Keri sarpanch,dy overcome no-trust motion
VALPOI, MAY 21(HC) — In an unusual twist, Keri (Sattari) Sarpanch Manjeeri Gawas and Deputy Sarpanch Venkatrao Rane overcame the no-confidence motion moved against them by five panchas.
Interestingly, as the panchas who had signed the motion notice did not turn up at the special meeting on Wednesday, the officer declared the motion as defeated and reinstated Gawas and Rane as sarpanch and deputy sarpanch of Keri panchayat respectively.
Panchas who attended the meeting are Sakshi Sawal and Ashok Gawas, while Razak Shaikh, Deepavli Rane, Suresh Parab, Mhadeo Gawas and Devki Gawas remained absent.
