Kerosene quota for Goa has been reduced from 2054 kilo liters to 1888 kilo liters with effect from April 1.
The reduction in quota has been 166 kilo liters per month with 9.10 per cent cut down.
Confirming that kerosene quota has been brought down, an official of the Civil Supplies Department on the condition of anonymity said Government of India has reduced kerosene quota for all the States and not just Goa.
However, the department is yet to decide how to adjust reduced quota among cardholders. Currently, a cardholder with gas connection can avail of maximum of 5 liters of kerosene but there’s no upper limit for those without gas connections.
