PONDA: Khandepar locals demanded that the Curti Khandepar Panchayat construct a bus shelter for school students at Opa-Khandepar junction. The villagers met the Sarpanch Naved Tehsildar and pointed out that in absence of bus shelter, the students were forced to stand by the road side for hours together for the arrival of a bus.
The locals also stated that earlier students are injured due to accidents by the roadside.
They also demanded that the panchayat clear the illegal shops by the roadside at the OPA junction on PWD land and a construct bus shelter for hundreds of students who stand here to board a bus.
They further said that the incomplete work of the approach road for the newly constructed Khandepar bridge has become a major issue and that it needs to be constructed on urgent basis so that traffic at Opa could be diverted over the bridge.
Sarpanch Naved Tehsildar assured that all efforts would be made with the NH for early construction of an approach road to the new bridge and added that the encroachment by vendors on roads at various places along the NH and internal Highways would be cleared.
