DHARBANDORA: WRD Executive Engineer Krishnakant Patil met farmers from Dhat, Sangod on Thursday and assured them that he would repair the canal soon and provide them the much need water for their crops.

The ryots had complained to the official that they had problems as the canal water failed to reach their fields. Patil then inspected the site and promised them that he would repair the canal soon and also make temporary arrangements by providing water from mining pits.
Over 100 farmers here had abandoned their fields as the canal was leaking in various places and the crops would wither in the absence of water.
The official was accompanied by local panch Vithoba Malekar, Santosh Sangodkar, Mahesh Sangodkar and other farmers.
