MARGAO: Maina Curtorim police on Friday has managed to trace a 16 years girl kidnapped by a bus conductor on Thursday.
Both the accused and the victim were later sent for medical examination to ascertain whether the girl was sexually assaulted by the accused.
According to PI Gurudas Kadam, the mother of 16-year-old girl from a village in Salcete on Thursday December 12 night filed a complaint stating that her daughter had been kidnapped from her lawful custody by Mario Chetry alias Kumar, 20 years native of Sikkim.
Police who were in search of the victim managed to trace the victim and the accused at Margao KTC bus stand on Friday noon and immediately detained accused Kumar and brought the girl along to police station.
Kumar has been charged under section 363 IPC and section 8 of Goa Children Act. Maina Curtorim PSI Deu Mangaonkar is investigating.
