MARGAO: The Konkan Railway police station on Saturday arrested two persons from Kasargod-Kerala while making an abortive bid to smuggle 180 liquor bottles on a train at the Margao railway station.
The incident came to light when police constables Venkat and Kaskar were patrolling at the railway station when they apprehended the two suspects while carrying two bags on the foot-over bridge. The two disclosed their names as Lancy Joel and Naveen Kumar and told KR PSI Dattaguru Sawant that more bags containing consignment were kept under the bridge.
