VASCO: Kritesh Gaonkar and Shashikant Parab will continue as Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC ) chairperson and vice-chairperson as Urban Development Minister Milind Naik on Monday at special meeting set aside the presiding officer’s order against the duo on no-confidence motion issue.
Kritesh Gaonkar said that the final decision was given by the Urban Development Milind Naik on no confidence motion issue.
“We had put forward our facts before him and after understanding the matter he has found the loopholes in the previous decision which was against us. The minister has given final decision to set aside the presiding officer’s decision and now I will continue as a chairperson from now on”, Gaonkar said.
It may be recalled that the High Court on Monday disposed the plea filed by Mormugao Municipal Council’s councillor Nandadeep Raut and 12 other councillors in regards to no confidence motion which was passed at a special meeting recently.
