K’taka Police send back buses with labourers on board

panjim: Karnataka Police posted along the Goa-Karwar border sent back two buses with labourers on board, who were to be dropped at the border for their journey back to their native places. However, only nine from the region with travel permissions were allowed to cross the border.

Around 61 labourers from Karnataka who were housed in the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim following the lockdown were allowed to board two KTC buses to Canacona, Polem for returning to their native places.  This was done as per the State govt’s order. However, the Karnataka Police denied entry as they insisted on allowing only those from the Uttara Kannada region. The police only allowed 9 persons who were from the Uttara Kannada region. The police also informed that persons other than Uttara Karnataka will have to avail travel permits to Karnataka.
