PANJIM: The Old Goa police on Thursday booked a bus driver of Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL) for allegedly driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
According to the police, accused Elvis Rodrigues (49) from Ela, Old Goa drove the KTC bus carrying passengers in it in a rash and negligent manner without taking proper care and caution endangering human life.
The incident occurred at around 7:37 pm near Kadambabypass road, Old Goa, when the passengers alleged that the driver was driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol and forced him to stop the bus, which was proceeding from Panjim to Valpoi.
The case was registered at the Old Goa police station under Section 279 of IPC and 185 of Motor Vehicle Act upon the complaint of head constable Sayyed Abdulla.
