27-year-old dies in tragic collision at Old Goa

PANJIM: A 27-year-old youth died in a tragic accident at Old Goa on Thursday. Akash Gaude, a resident of Priol, who was on a scooter was knocked down by a tempo, driven by 21-year-old Pradeep Mahto from Bihar, at Corlim, on Wednesday.

Old Goa police arrested Mahto and charged him with reckless and negligent driving. The accident occurred when both the vehicles –the tempo which was en route from Kundaim to Mapusa and Gaude’s scooter, were proceeding in the same direction towards Old Goa. It serves as a stark reminder of the potential consequences of irresponsible behavior behind the wheel and the importance of ensuring road safety for all.
