MARGAO: A fishing boat rescued a labourer in the Arabian Sea off Panjim coast after he accidentally fell into the water last night.
The 28-year-old labourer was brought at the Cutbona fishing jetty on Friday evening after he was rescued in the wee hours.
President of Cutbona Boat Owners Union Cypriano Cardozo said the labourer Raj Kumar Karette, a native of Odhissa, was sleeping on the fishing nets abroad a fishing vessel when he accidentally fell into the water last night.
“Raj Kumar says he was literally struggling in the sea when he was spotted by a fishing vessel Santana from Cutbona at 5 am and rescued,” Cardozo said.
He said the labourer will be handed over to his employer and will be subjected to medical examination.
