QUEPEM: Taki village in the Xeldem Panchayat of Curchorem Quepem area witnessed heavy rains which led to a landslide, which damaged a house. Fortunately, no injuries or loss of life were reported.
The incident occurred on Tuesday at around 3 pm. Vidya Hulgekar, the owner of the house, recounted hearing a loud noise from outside their home. Upon investigation, they discovered that a part of the nearby hill had collapsed, sending mud onto their house.
Curchorem’s fire brigade has been diligently working to address the situation since Tuesday. However, the ongoing heavy rains and the continuous flow of water and soil from the hill have made rescue operations challenging.
