Margao Municipal Council (MMC) Chief Officer Yeshwant Tawde has now ordered an inquiry into the matter and directed the clerk to update the leave registry within 30 days.
MMC employees exploit the fact that their leaves aren’t registered and can often get away with absenteeism. Additionally, some employees have not been getting their rightful leaves due to the absenteeism of others.
When questioned on the issue, CO Tawde informed that it had been going on for a long time and that he had come across 12 such cases until date. He warned the MMC employees that they would lose their privileges if their leaves had not been registered for a long time.
He added, “I have ordered the clerk to update the leaves registry within 30 days.”
