Legislative panel unhappy with coastal security

PANJIM :The Legislative panel on Thursday expressed unhappiness with the Coastal Security measures adopted by the Government along the Goa's coastal belt.

PANJIM :The Legislative panel on Thursday expressed unhappiness with the Coastal Security measures adopted by the Government along the Goa’s coastal belt. 
The legislative ad hoc committee on Home chaired by the Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar has also urged the home ministry to ‘have a thoughtful look at the coastal security in the light of sea attacks carried out on commercial capital, Mumbai by terrorists form across the border.’
The state security is on high alert since Mumbai 26/11 attack, especially during the tourist season between October and March.
Goa is often on the terror radar, being an international tourist destination inviting tourists from across the globe. Laskar-e-Taiba operative David Coleman Headley, couple of years ago, carried out a recce of the northern coastal belt where Jewish prayer houses are located.
