Leopard movement has been reported in the Guleli–Bamanagal area of Sattari, triggering concern among local residents.
Villagers have urged the Goa Forest Department to take immediate steps to ensure public safety and prevent any untoward incidents. Residents claim that sightings have occurred close to habitation areas, raising fears, particularly for children, livestock, and elderly residents.
Locals have appealed for intensified patrolling, installation of camera traps, and awareness drives to guide residents on precautionary measures. They have also requested the department to deploy rapid response teams to monitor the situation.
Forest officials are expected to assess the area and take necessary action as per wildlife safety protocols. Meanwhile, villagers have been advised to avoid venturing into forested areas alone and to remain alert during early morning and late evening hours.
