The Goa Police have registered a case of extortion and criminal intimidation at the Anjuna Police Station following a complaint filed by an Assagao-based property owner identified as Kunal.
According to police sources, the complainant alleged that he received a phone call from Vikram, a resident of Bendwada in Sanguem, who reportedly demanded ₹20 lakh and threatened dire consequences if the amount was not paid.
Compound Wall Damaged, ₹50,000 Loss Reported
Police stated that the following day, Vikram’s associates — identified as Deepak and Sadiq — along with other unidentified individuals, allegedly arrived at the property in Assagao and damaged the compound wall.
The complainant has estimated the damage to the property at approximately ₹50,000.
Case Registered Under BNS
Authorities have booked the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including provisions related to extortion and criminal intimidation.
Police confirmed that further investigation is underway to verify the allegations, identify other individuals involved, and take appropriate legal action.
