MARGAO: Ex-Students of Loyola High School going under the banner of Loyola Ex-Students Association (LESA) on Sunday commissioned a project powering the school building with solar energy as part of the celebration of the platinum jubilee of the school.
The project was commissioned by Br. Nigel Alfonso who is an ex-student of the school in the presence of the principal Fr Basil Vago, Fr Simon D’Mello, Fr Willy Rodrigues and Fr Desmond all of the Society of Jesus along with Elric Pereira president of KLESA and its managing committee.
The solar grid has a capacity of 15 KW and will handle the power requirement of the entire school building and has been prepared to reduce the green house gases effect on the environment and incidentally Loyola High School is the first school Goa to be powered by solar grid.
