Light rain predicted at isolated places today

PANJIM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Goa has predicted light rain at isolated places over Goa on Sunday as well as haze and shallow fog across the State.

IMD Goa had also predicted that light rain would occur at isolated places over South and North Goa on Saturday night as well along with the haze and shallow fog conditions.

It may be recalled that that there were light showers in Goa last Monday too accompanied with cloudy weather.

IMD scientist Rahul M had said that the light rain had occurred then due to a trough-like formation in the winds, which had also led to the change in temperature.

On Saturday, IMD had an update about the temperature conditions too.

“After 24 hours, fall in minimum temperature is likely by 2-3°C in the subsequent 3 days. Weather is very likely to be dry on January 24, 25 and 26,” IMD Goa said on Saturday.

“The highest maximum temperature of 31.1°C was recorded at Mormugao. The lowest minimum temperature of 20.6°C was recorded at Panjim,” IMD said.

IMD also issued a wind and high wave warning for fishermen over the Arabian Sea and asked them not to venture out during such conditions.
