MAPUSA: Waste Management Minister Michael Lobo on Thursday said that he has asked the CM to modify the order issued by North and South Goa District Collectors which implies that shops and establishments will remain open from 9am to 6pm.

He further added, “That means everything will remain open. We have to cut the chain but they are playing with words and lives of the people. This order has no meaning since during lockdown only essential should remain open but if everything remained open then how the chain will break. We have to stop the movement of people,” Lobo said.

Even the fish market of Calangute had limited vendors. Taxis and public transports remained off road. Not a single person was found moving around on the beaches of Calangute.
