Lobo re-appointed NGPDA chairman

PANJIM: The State government on Wednesday appointed Deputy Speaker Michael Lobo as chairman of the North Goa Planning and Development Authority (NGPDA). This will be the second term of the two-time Calangute MLA at the helm of the Authority.

PANJIM: The State government on Wednesday appointed Deputy Speaker Michael Lobo as chairman of the North Goa Planning and Development Authority (NGPDA). This will be the second term of the two-time Calangute MLA at the helm of the Authority. 
Chief Town Planner Dr ST Puttaraju, in a notification, has constituted the NGPDA under the chairmanship of Lobo, with Urban Development Minister Francis D’Souza as a member along with nine others. 
The government also appointed Sidharth Kuncalienker as a member of the NGPDA. Jennifer Monserrate and Glen Ticlo have also been appointed members of the authority. The other members of the new Authority are Chairperson of Mapusa Municipal Council, former Mayor and sitting CCP councilor Shubham Chodankar, CCP councilor Menino D’Cruz, former councilor Deepak Mhapsekar and one Dattaprasad Dabholkar. The Member Secretary will be a town planning officer.  
The Authority will look into the planning and development of Panjim, Mapusa and Calangute-Candolim planning area. 
It was during Lobo’s earlier tenure as NGPDA chairman that Calangute-Candolim areas was brought under PDA and he has completed the Outline Development Plans for Panjim, Taleigao and Mapusa. 
The government is yet to appoint chairpersons for South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) and the Mormugao Planning and Development Authority (MPDA) – for which BJP and Goa Forward Party are staking claim.
