vasco: Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida, Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) chairperson along with some councillors has demanded that Vasco be placed under lockdown again to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The Vasco MLA, reiterated his demand for a total lockdown in Vasco following the rise in number of COVID-19 cases from Mangor hill area. He added that such a step would be crucial and has to be taken immediately. He added that he had already spoken to the Chief Minister in this regard.
MMC Chairperson Nandadeep Raut added that all major establishments in the town such as the municipality building, banks, police station, post office, sub registrar’s office etc will be totally sanitised and disinfected shortly.
Former MMC Chairperson Kritesh Gaonkar concurred with the demand for a lockdown and said Mangor hill residents could have come in contact with others too.
Councillor Lavina Dsouza, agreed and called for more testing in nearby areas also.
