VALPOI: Keri village locals are upset with the pathetic conditions of the Keri Belgaum highway. They say the road has been deteriorating for the last one year and provides problems to locals commuting on this route, especially those who have health conditions.

The locals have demanded that the government repairs the road immediately. They added that the road is in such a bad condition that they have trouble just traveling on it with their vehicles. A local Devendra Gawas said two-wheeler riders face back problems after a trip on this potholed-road.

Locals also raised concerns on the number of accidents that have occurred on this route as well as the fact that locals cannot walk on this route during the monsoon as the potholes are full of water. “We have been raising this issue repeatedly but no one is taking any action,” another local added.

Keri Sarpanch, Govind Gawas said they had applied temporary fixes on the potholes but the heavy rains washed it away. He added that the panchayat  has informed the Valpoi PWD road department to repair the highway.
