VASCO:  After a youth died in a tree fall in Vasco, the local municipality cut down all the trees that were on the verge of collapse some 15 days ago. But the wood logs have been abandoned on the footpath along Swatantra path causing inconvenience to the pedestrians.
Students who regularly use the footpath along the Swatantra path said that they have to dodge the wood logs while going to school.
When asked why the logs were still lying on the footpaths, MMC Chairperson Nandadeep Raut said that the municipality does not have adequate labour force and machinery to remove the logs.
“We do not have open trucks. Presently, I am in a situation wherein I have to tackle garbage collection issue. Most of the MMC labours have been deployed to clear chocked drains in the town. Therefore, it took some time to attend to this issue,” Raut said and assured to clear the wood logs before Vasco Saptah.
