In a significant development during the Ordinary Gram Sabha Meeting on November 26, 2023, the residents of Loliem came together to unanimously reject the proposal for establishing a Film City in their village. The decision mandates the Loliem-Polem Village Panchayat to promptly dispatch letters to key stakeholders, including the Comunidade of Loliem, the Entertainment Society of Goa, the Chief Minister of Goa, the Administrator of Comunidades (South Zone), the Environment Minister of Goa, and the MLA of Canacona Constituency. These letters will communicate the unanimous resolution and urge immediate compliance by withdrawing the proposal for the Film City at Loliem village.
