MARGAO: The Navelim BJP Zilla Panchayat candidate Satyavijay Naik on Monday claimed that he lost election because MLA Filipe Neri Rodrigues, Churchill Alemao and Avertano Furtado did not work for him during the election campaign.
Satyavijay alleged that the heavy weight leaders of Navelim and surrounding area purchased the voters just before the elections. “I don’t know what decision they took together,” he said.
“I have informed the party that if this system remains the same, the party will face a tough time,” he added. Speaking on Churchill, Satyavijay said, “The Benaulim MLA was in support just some days back. But suddenly he declared his support to Edwin Cipru Cardozo as he plans to field his daughter Valanka Alemao in Navelim.”
Criticising Avertano, Satyavijay said that the BJP only got 20 votes in a booth, which he campaigned for. These votes, he claimed were traditionally BJP votes.
Satyavijay said that he will bounce back and added he will stake claim of Navelim BJP ticket.
