MARGAO: Maina Curtorim Police have registered a case against member of Loutolim Panchayat Maria Monteiro following a complaint lodged by Piedade Coelho, the wife of the Loutolim Sarpanch Inacinho Fernandes.
As per the complaint, Maria is not in good terms with the Sarpanch and his family and according to Piedade, she has been harassing the family for quite some time. Piedade complained that the panchayat member trespassed into her property on Tuesday along with officials of the Primary Health Centre reportedly to carry out an inspection, even though no notice was served on them about the inspection.
According to Piedade, the panchayat member caught her by the neck to stop her when she tried to stop people from entering her property and further abused her with filthy language and also assaulted her with slaps and fist blows.
It may be recalled that yesterday the police had registered a case against Piedade following a complaint lodged by Maria. Police Inspector Pravinkumar Vast disclosed that cases have been registered against both the women.
