Loutolim Sarpanch Sergio Fernandes was on Tuesday ousted from office in a no confidence motion.
Six members of the Panchayat body had tabled a notice of no confidence motion against the Sarpanch, accusing him for not preparing the development plan for the village and charged him for not taking the members into confidence.
The signatories to the motion were Jose Caitano Fernandes, Ramdas Jogle, Carmo Fernandes, Marian Fernandes, Jose Vaz and Catarina Fernandes.
Incidentally, Sergio had submitted his resignation to the Salcete Block Development Officer on Monday, saying he was compelled to tender the resignation letter due to obstruction to the development activities in the village by local MLA and Power Minister, Alexio Sequeira.
