CORTALIM: Cortalim village and surrounding areas have been experiencing low voltage with the situation becoming worse on Friday.
Cortalim Panch Raymond De Sa told Herald that fridges and other gadgets were not functioning due to low voltage.
“I have information from the Electricity department that there is supply of only 9.2 KV as against 11 KV,” De Sa told Herald and added that this trend has been the case even during last summer.
Admitting low voltage, Assistant Engineer in-charge of Cortalim, Manu N said that there is a power supply problem all over Goa.
When it was brought to his attention that the power situation was comparatively better in Panjim than in Cortalim area, Manu said that the Ponda power feeder was receiving less power supply and correspondingly other substations were also receiving less power on account of this.
“I cannot tell you when exactly the power situation will improve in the Cortalim area he said adding that it is for the government to decide on the issue,” Manu said.
