VALPOI: A LPG cylinder blast in a house at Hivrem, Varchwada in Sattari resulting in a loss of about Rs 80,000. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported.
The house belongs to one Vasudev Gaonkar and the blast occurred at around 3 am. The blast was so intense that the roof was blown away. Gaonkar’s neighbours tried to douse the fire but were unsuccessful. Thereafter they contacted the Valpoi fire station.
Valpoi fire station brigade rushed to the site immediately and doused the fire.
Meanwhile, Poriem MLA Deviya Rane reached out to the respective family and assured to help the affected family to build a new house. Thane panchayat body too, has assured of extending help to the family.
