PANJIM: North Goa District and Sessions Court granted anticipatory bail to suspended Lady Police Sub Inspector Devyani Naik, her husband Chandan Naik and Police Constable Chetan Morajkar who were charged with bribery by Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB).
Following the FIR the trio had approached the court seeking anticipatory bail. All three, along with former Deputy Inspector General of Police Vimal Anand Gupta were booked by ACB in an alleged bribery case to settle the departmental inquiry against Devyani.
The FIR was registered following directions from the government against Gupta for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 40,000 from Devyani to clear and close the Departmental Enquiry against her.
She has also appealed before the High Court of at Goa to quash the FIR registered against her that is pending before the branch.
