PANJIM: The salvage operation of the offshore casino vessel, Lucky 7 is likely to be delayed further, as the hole at the bottom of the ship is widening.
Sources told Herald that the vessel, which is now floating, has been affected by tide and inclement weather, resulting in widening of the hole.
“Water has reached the engine room and repair work is on. The salvage of the vessel will be delayed further because towing the vessel in this condition will worsen the situation,” the official said.
The salvage company, Arihant Ship Breakers had just completed repairs of the damaged portion of the vessel, when it developed another snag last week.
The ship was expected to be towed in mid-August.
