CURCHOREM: A driver on Wednesday had a lucky escape when a truck laden with basalt stones fell on its side on the slope along the main Shiroda-Sanvordem road at Tarir-Panchwadi.
It is learnt that the truck was proceeding from a basalt stone quarry at Panchwadi to Margao via Sanvordem. On reaching the slope towards Sanvordem, the driver steered the truck towards the side of the road and lost control of the vehicle, which later fell on its side.
Luckily, the driver escaped with minor injuries. The truck’s windscreen was completely damaged.
Later, the truck was towed away with the help of a crane.
