Madkaikar’s bungalow was issued occupancy certificate in one week

PANJIM: Power Minister Pandurang Madkaikar’s palatial bungalow adjacent to the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a protected monument, was granted an occupancy certificate by Old Goa Panchayat within a week.

PANJIM: Power Minister Pandurang Madkaikar’s palatial bungalow adjacent to the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a protected monument, was granted an occupancy certificate by Old Goa Panchayat within a week. This has been revealed in information furnished to Adv Aires Rodrigues under RTI.
Nikitasha Realtors Pvt Ltd owned by Pandurang on January 5 this year applied for the occupancy certificate which was granted by the panchayat, headed by his wife Janita, within a week on January 11 after getting it approved at the panchayat meeting on January 8.
The documents obtained by Rodrigues also reveal that the construction licence for the bungalow was issued with a fortnight with the licence  applied for on January 15, 2013 and the panchayat issuing it on February 2,2013. Engineer Paresh Gaitonde, in his letter to the panchayat had estimated the cost of construction of that bungalow at Rs 1,42,46,485.
As per the documents furnished to Rodrigues the plot measuring 35,125 sq mts was bought from Swarnabhumi Builders by Nikitasha Realtors Pvt Ltd represented by its Managing Director Janita on October 11, 2004 for Rs 20 lakh while Pandurang was the Revenue Minister.
