Maharashtra registered vehicles banned for float show

PANJIM: The State Information Department has asked the event agency managing the mobile float showcasing various initiatives of the State government to refrain from using Maharashtra registered vehicles for the float.

The agency was told that this action contradicts the very theme of the government of promoting local youth and making Goans self-reliant.

In a letter sent by the government, the agency that manages the mobile float and allied activities of outdoor promotion on the theme ‘Swayampurna Goa’ , ‘Goa @60’ and ‘Know Your Schemes’ have been asked to stop the use of Maharashtra registered vehicles immediately . “Further services required, if any may be sourced locally from Goan artists,” reads the letter.

It may be recalled that Goa Congress had recently criticised the government for using Maharashtra registered vehicles for the initiative.
