MARGAO: Maina-Curtorim police on Saturday morning managed to trace two minors, a boy aged 17 from Curtorim and a 14-year-old girl from Macazana at Tolsanzor-Aquem, Margao, who were reported missing by their respective parents.
Both minors were sent for medical examination to the Goa Medical College Hospital, Bambolim. The boy was later sent to Apna Ghar at Merces.
It may be recalled that the father of the minor boy had filed a complaint with the Maina-Curtorim police on June 1 stating that his minor son aged 17 who left the house on a scooter on May 31, at 3 pm had failed to return home. An offence of kidnapping under section 363 IPC and 8(2) of Goa Children’s Act-2003 for taking the child from the lawful guardianship was registered against unknown person. However, on June 4, the father of the girl from Macazana filed a complaint at Maina-Curtorim police stating that on May 31, at 3 pm, a minor boy, friendly with his daughter, eloped with her from his lawful guardianship while she was going for tuition.
Police have also registered an offence under section 363 IPC, kidnapping and 8(2) of Goa Children’s Act 2003 against unknown person. Further investigation in the case is being conducted by PSI Pradeep Velip.
