Major accident at Goa-Velha bypass kills one

A major accident was reported at the Goa Velha by-pass Friday morning.  The heavy rains resulting in slippery roads took their first toll –resulting in a massive collision of three vehicles.  One person was reported to be dead in the accident. The deceased was one Arfan Khan, a resident of New Vaddem who is reported to have died on the spot. 

The impact of the accident was so huge that the vehicles were completed smashed. Three vehicles –a car, a pickup jeep, and a light commercial vehicle were involved in the pileup. The pickup fell on its side while the front portion of the car was completely smashed. The vehicles were on either side of the road and there was no clarity if one vehicle had crossed the divider. Police and medics rushed to the spot after the accident.
