PANJIM: A body of a Haryana native was found floating in the water on Saturday morning near the Santa Monica Jetty.
The body was noticed in the morning by some persons who were passing by and informed the police. The Coastal Security Police were called in who fished out the body from the river.
The deceased was identified as Aman Gupta, a native of Haryana and a high end phone, cash cards and a cigarette lighter were recovered by police.
Panjim Police Station Police Inspector Nikhil Palekar said, “We have started the investigation and have informed the family of the deceased who are reaching to Goa soon and the post mortem will be conducted only after the family arrives. We have registered a case of unnatural death,” he said.
