Mamata dissolves national level portfolios, forms 20-member working committee

Luizinho Faleiro was part of office-bearer's committee which will be reconstituted with appointments made again

PANJIM In a series of decisions taken to revamp the Trinamool Congress (TMC) organizations, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

All national-level portfolios in the party, including her nephew Abhishek Banerjee’s portfolio of National General Secretary, were therefore dissolved. This also included the position of National Vice President Luizinho Faleiro. A fresh round of portfolio allocations, apparently keeping in mind the one man one post formula, and thus national level re-appointments will be done.

Dissolution of committees is a routine exercise whenever a new Chairperson is elected, as it happened now when Mamata Banerjee was re-elected as the party Chairperson last week.

Hence, party sources confirmed, Goa’s Luizinhos Faleiro’s, Rajya Sabha member,  has not been “dropped” as National Vice President but since all office bearer portfolios have been dissolved, Faleiro’s is also one of them. This committee will be constituted again in the next couple of days.

She also simultaneously constituted a 20-member National working committee, which is another committee. Among the leaders who found a place in the national working committee are Amit Mitra, Partha Chatterjee, Subrata Bakshi, Sudip Bandopadhyay, Abhishek Banerjee, Anubrata Mondal, Aroop Biswas, Firhad Hakim, and Yashwant Sinha.
