PANJIM: Miffed over the pre-poll alliance with the regional Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), former Ponda MLA Lavoo Mamledar resigned from primary membership of Trinamool Congress (TMC) party along with others on Friday.
Mamledar was among nine founder members that had joined the Goa Trinamool Congress Party (TMC) on September 29 this year.

Ram Mandrekar, Kishor Parwar, Komal Parwar and Sujay Malik also quit the Goa TMC along with the former MLA.
Speaking to the media, Mamledar claimed, though he had believed that the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) is a secular party, it is trying to divide Goans on the basis of religion by aligning with the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP).
Mamledar further slammed the AITC for false promises made to the people of Goa by launching the schemes such as Griha Laxmi. “Griha Laxmi scheme is merely launched for collection of data of Goan voters for Assembly elections,” said Mamledar.
Stating that he has sent his resignation letter to the AITC chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Mamledar has alleged that the company (agency) hired by the party for Assembly elections campaign does not know pulse of the people.
Reacting to Mamledar’s resignation, AITC vice-president and MP Luizinho Faleiro said the party was on mission and the mission is to defeat the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP).
Faleiro quipped, “Some passengers’ destination might have changed. But bus will go ahead. The vision is clear.”
