VALPOI: In a cold-blooded murder, a Kodal villager in Nagargaon panchayat chopped off the head of his brother’s wife over a property dispute on Friday.
According to sources, the victim Parvati Mahadev Gaonkar, 65, was murdered with a chopper by Babuli Budho Gaonkar. The accused attacked her with the chopper eight times on her neck and legs and threw her body in cashew plantation in the Village.
According to her family members, Parvati Gaonkar had gone to the cashew farm on Friday afternoon, but since she didn’t return home in the evening, they all went out to search for her and found her mortally injured.
The victim was immediately taken to Valpoi Community Health Centre in a 108 ambulance; however, she passed away before reaching the health centre.
