Mandrem p’yat inspects complaints of illegal hill-cutting, tree felling

PERNEM: A team of staffers from the Mandrem village panchayat headed by Sarpanch Amit Sawant inspected a construction site at Junaswada after the panchayat received a complaint from a local resident, about illegal hill-cutting underway at the site. Adv Prasad Shahapurkar, a villager, alleged that illegal hill cutting and tree cutting was being carried out on land bearing survey no. 365.

“As per the complaint, we have carried out the inspection and identified the area. We will make a report of whatever we have observed during the inspection, along with photos, and send it to the Department of Town and Country Planning (TCP). We will also verify if the concerned persons have obtained the necessary permissions and take action if warranted,” said Sarpanch Amit Sawant.
