Mapusa police said that Nirmala Missal residing in a flat at Saldhana Apartment had gone to Bicholim on Monday for her personal work. When she returned home on Tuesday evening at around 6 pm she found the front door lock of her flat broke opened. After entering the flat she observed that that cupboards had been broken and cash and gold worth Rs 13 lakh found stolen.
Mapusa police rushed to the spot, conducted panchanama and pressed into service a dog squad that yielded no lead.
Police have registered a case of burglary and are investigating.
