Mardol Police have registered an FIR after a resident of Marcel was allegedly cheated of ₹2.01 lakh in an online fraud involving a fake e-challan message.
According to the complaint, the victim received a fraudulent e-challan notification on his mobile phone and clicked on the link provided in the message. He was then prompted to download an application and enter his credit card details.

Although the payment transaction reportedly failed, fraudsters allegedly used the card information to carry out unauthorised transactions amounting to ₹2,01,250.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. Authorities have once again urged the public to avoid clicking on suspicious links and to verify the authenticity of e-challan messages through official government portals before sharing any personal or banking information.
