MARGAO: Margao Municipal Council (MMC), in a special meeting held on Friday, has resolved to shift the Margao feast fair to the land opposite the SGPDA ground.
MMC has decided to use the recently-filled land opposite the SGPDA for the feast fair and MMC Chairperson Babita Angle said the move would save a lot of money, which otherwise would have gone to SGPDA.
The feast fair will start from the first week of December.
The future of the fair hung in balance after the High Court order not to hold feast fair on footpaths.
MMC was paying almost Rs 8 lakh to Rs to 11 lakh as rent to SGPDA for the use of the space. The complaint of dust too would be solved with this decision, with all councillors in support of the decision.
