MARGAO: Citizens of Margao on Tuesday held a candlelight vigil to seek justice for late Fr Stan Swamy.
Prominent citizens of Margao including Dr. Francisco Colaso, Jose Maria Miranda, Dr. Ashish Kamat, former Chairperson of Margao Municipal Council Piedade Noronha among others gathered in front of the Holy Spirit Church, Margao and held a candlelight vigil to seek justice for late Fr. Stan.
Jose Maria Miranda said that he was a gift to our society because through his efforts the Adivasi community got their rights.
Dr. Francisco Colaco said, “Fr. Stan Swamy will be forever remembered. His novel thought and love for the marginalized and long-suffering will always remain in the heart.”
