MAPUSA: Youth from Aldona villages filled potholes on the Calvim Bridge on Tuesday in protest to local MLA’s failure in maintaining the village roads.
The potholes remained unattended for a year now and have caused many accidents, especially to commuters crossing the bridge especially at night, claimed the protesting youth.
They also highlighted that there is no road lights over the Calvin Bridge. There is a decorative focus light, which was installed at the foundation stone bearing names of the students who lost lives in a tragic incident and it is put on only on their death anniversary.
“Last time after we took out morcha the lights were restored. I think people have to do the same thing to restore the light again,” the youth claimed.
Locals also highlighted a similar kind of situation in Nachinola, where the roads are full of potholes.
