MARGAO: Inspection of black spots undertaken by Margao Municipal Council has revealed that the maximum garbage found at the roadside is of chicken waste, cloth pieces from tailoring shops and tender coconut shells.

Taking serious note of the same Damodar Shirodkar, Chairperson of Margao Municipal Council has warned the persons involved in these businesses of strict action in the coming days.
Continuing with the inspections of the black spots in the jurisdiction of the civic body, Chairperson along with Dipali Sawal, Vice-Chairperson, Councillor Johnny Crasto, Lyndon Pereira and other officials of the municipality visited a few wards of the Fatorda constituency on Tuesday evening.
A few days before the civic body had conducted a similar exercise wherein Chairperson had warned of strict action including penalising unscrupulous elements with hefty fines.
“Once again we are requesting the citizens not to engage in dumping the garbage on the roadside, as culprits will be penalised if found,” he stated.
He informed the reporters that at many black spots they have found a huge quantity of chicken waste, besides tender coconut shells and waste from tailoring shops.
“We are not against those in the business, but at the same time they should not create a garbage menace by dumping the waste on the road side,” he warned.
