MARGAO: The Margao Town Police on Friday registered a case against one Feroz Sayyed from Salcete for circulating an objectionable video on Youtube changing the name of Valpoi to Islampur and claiming that Muslims will take over Goa.
Sayyed had stated that Islam will rule Goa and that Muslims will take over the State as fertility rate of Muslims community was 4.6 in Goa.
According to the police, the accused has committed an act of creating fear and feeling of insecurity among other communities there by promoting disharmony, enmity and feeling of hatred. The Margao Police have registered the case under Section 153 (a) of IPC and PSI Stanley Gomes is investigating the case.
Meanwhile, the Jammat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), Goa strongly condemned the comments and appealed to trace the accused and initiate appropriate action against him.
