Margao police file FIR against deputy collector Shirodkar

PANJIM: Margao Police have registered an FIR against deputy collector Sheru Shirodkar for fraudulently securing a comunidade plot in Sancoale. Margao PI C L Patil said that the offence has been registered under sections 199, 200, 240 and 420 of IPC.

John Philip Pereira had filed a complaint at Margao Police Station in June 2014 based on RTI documents sourced from different government authorities and the administrator of the comunidades. However, Police failed to file the FIR which forced Pereira to approach the Margao district court for directions to the police to register the FIR and investigate the case. Police filed the FIR based on the Margao court’s direction. 
As per the complaint Shirodkar a government servant, filed a false affidavit before the administrator of comunidades, South Zone, Margao, stating she is landless in order to obtain the residential plot of land measuring 400 sq mtrs from Sancoale comunidade.
Shirodkar is not eligible to obtain comunidade land as per article 330 of the Code of Comunidades. As per the complaint, Shirodkar filed a false income certificate and swore an affidavit claiming she is landless. However, her husband is in the construction business and has flats and ancestral property in Sancoale.
