MARGAO: The GOACAN in its observation of Vigilance Awareness Week has inspected the Margao Post office and has found glaring discrepancies.
“The Margao Post Office which is the head office for South Goa is in crisis and it is because the Senior Superintendent of Posts who has been sitting in for all these years in Mapusa never bothered to come to Margao and see what is happening here,” said Convenor of GOACAN Roland Martins.
Roland has urgently called upon the new SSP who has recently taken over to immediately visit and South Goa post office. We are also filing a complaint regarding the same and calling upon all the members of Parliament who have jurisdiction over South Goa to ask why action shouldn’t be taken in this matter against the authorities. Thousands of people affected due to the problems,” he said.
“Instead of going on announcing schemes from Panjim and hoodwinking people they should create changes,” requested Roland.
The GOACAN has demanded that the Postal Department has to come out clear in all the affairs of offices in Margao jurisdiction before December 31. “Goa is bringing major revenue for the Postal Department. Our strong demand to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant who has expressed his view not to have employees in post offices people coming from all over India sitting here in the office for six months and then taking illegal letter and going back to their parent State,” he demanded.
